Omsk's Mikhail Ignatiev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikhail Mazanov in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes, Stanislav Ershov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Omsk and the Krasnoyarsk HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Krasnoyarsk HC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Omsk were winning 0-1.

Albert Kuznetsov charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Nikolay Gurev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikifor Gorbunov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Omsk booed when Krasnoyarsk HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Chernovisov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikolay Gurev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roman Limonov in the 85th minute. Mikhail Ignatiev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pavel Krakhilev in the 87th minute of the match. Nikifor Gorbunov hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The Omsk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Omsk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
