Ilya Lerh's late challenge caught a Nizhny Tagil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ilya Lerh helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Derbent FC! Artem Kabanov placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a rather tough play, Derbent FC's Igor Doronin got a free kick in the 7th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Derbent FC's zone, Aleksey Priymak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artem Bessonov came out of the goal and Aleksey Priymak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Irakliy Aleksandrov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolf Astapenko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Irakliy Aleksandrov in the 15th minute. Yuriy Drynov took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rudolf Astapenko. Rudolf Astapenko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Arkadiy Yaffe might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artem Bessonov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arkadiy Yaffe ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute, Fedor Kobzon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute of the match Nizhny Tagil got a corner. Derbent FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Artem Kabanov ran over to the corner to take the kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Irakliy Aleksandrov to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Nizhny Tagil booed when Derbent FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Doronin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Artem Kabanov was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Aleksey Priymak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arkadiy Yaffe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artem Bessonov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aleksey Priymak in the 72nd minute. Rudolf Astapenko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuriy Drynov, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Yuriy Drynov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derbent FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuriy Drynov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Astapenko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute Arkadiy Yaffe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artem Bessonov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arkadiy Yaffe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiy Yaffe in the 94th minute of play forced Derbent FC's goalkeeper Artem Bessonov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nizhny Tagil's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
