Kirill Grishin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martyn Karavaev, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Dmitriy Ustinov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Irakliy Merkushev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonid Glasko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klim Valikov in the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of Makhachkala FC booed when Murmansk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martyn Karavaev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Irakliy Merkushev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonid Glasko having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Klim Valikov to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Makhachkala FC's Irakliy Merkushev sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonid Glasko narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 57th match minute, Murmansk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yaromir Drozdovskiy to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Klim Valikov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonid Glasko was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Leonid Glasko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Klim Valikov's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Martyn Karavaev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirill Grishin having to interfere. If Klim Valikov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute Irakliy Merkushev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonid Glasko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Murmansk players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Makhachkala FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
