In the 4th minute, Ruben Martsenyuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vasiliy Shvaiko came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Tolyatti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasiliy Shvaiko couldn't finish the play. Tolyatti's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ruben Martsenyuk 15 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Aleksey Bobrov struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Andrey Daev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kansk. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Ruben Martsenyuk took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Andrey Daev to make any attempt to save it. Andrey Daev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filimon Mihalkov's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Tolyatti's Andrey Daev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Martsenyuk in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Vasiliy Shvaiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tolyatti's supporters rose to their feet, but Vasiliy Shvaiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fedor Rusakevich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aleksey Bobrov got free with Andrey Daev in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute Arnold Makarov suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Ilya Timofeev fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kansk's protests and gave Ilya Timofeev a yellow card for diving instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruben Martsenyuk made a kick off. If Ruben Martsenyuk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrey Daev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksey Bobrov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Kansk's goalkeeper Fedor Rusakevich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Andrey Daev came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Kansk's Aleksey Bobrov. But to his dismay, Aleksey Bobrov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Roman Artishevskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Fedor Rusakevich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Ruben Martsenyuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrey Daev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fedor Rusakevich made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasiliy Shvaiko in the 83rd minute. Ruben Martsenyuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrey Daev having to interfere. Andrey Daev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksey Bobrov in the 93rd minute of play. Tolyatti's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
