Filimon Levtsov came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Makhachkala FC's Petr Alekseenko. But to his dismay, Petr Alekseenko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Petr Alekseenko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filimon Levtsov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. A collision led to Severodvinsk FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Severodvinsk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Saveliy Lepeiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 96th minute, Severodvinsk FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Petr Alekseenko fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Makhachkala FC played a much better game than Severodvinsk FC and deserved their victory. The Severodvinsk FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
