The Cheboksary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Popov should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Cheboksary booed when Novokuybyshevsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuil Klyuev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Strelkov struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Vladislav Marshanskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cheboksary. 17 minutes into the match, Albert Strelkov notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Novokuybyshevsk FC's Vladislav Marshanskiy. Vladislav Marshanskiy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Novokuybyshevsk FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Rostislav Gromov hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, Stanislav Krasovskiy notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Cheboksary's Igor Popov. Igor Popov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vladislav Marshanskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksandr Schukin in the 30th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Novokuybyshevsk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rostislav Kerzhakov to maneuver through the defense. Stanislav Krasovskiy struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Igor Popov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Novokuybyshevsk FC. Igor Popov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanislav Krasovskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Cheboksary's Mikhail Gorovoy got a free kick in the 45th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Igor Soborov during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th match minute, Novokuybyshevsk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Soborov to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Novokuybyshevsk FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Vladislav Marshanskiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksandr Schukin in the 56th minute of play. Aleksey Chanov hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Igor Popov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanislav Krasovskiy in the 63rd minute of the match. Emmanuil Klyuev's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Igor Popov firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Novokuybyshevsk FC's goalkeeper Vladislav Marshanskiy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vladislav Marshanskiy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Strelkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stepan Vorontsov during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stepan Vorontsov hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Emmanuil Klyuev took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Igor Popov. Igor Popov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 88th minute Stanislav Krasovskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Popov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aleksandr Schukin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladislav Marshanskiy came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cheboksary's Albert Strelkov. But to his dismay, Albert Strelkov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Stanislav Krasovskiy got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Emmanuil Klyuev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Igor Popov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Novokuybyshevsk FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
