Khimki FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birobidzhan FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiy Anichkov in the 6th minute of play forced Khimki FC's goalkeeper Vsevolod Sheptalin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Birobidzhan FC defense, Boris Teplitskiy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vladimir Noskov. The Birobidzhan FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vladimir Noskov should have stopped the shot. Arkadiy Anichkov struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Vsevolod Sheptalin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birobidzhan FC. Mikhail Babichev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Vsevolod Sheptalin made a huge save. Khimki FC's Boris Teplitskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vladimir Noskov came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Khimki FC's Boris Teplitskiy. But to his dismay, Boris Teplitskiy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mikhail Babichev got free with Vsevolod Sheptalin in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arkadiy Anichkov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Vsevolod Sheptalin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Arkadiy Anichkov dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vsevolod Sheptalin, 1-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boris Teplitskiy to strike the kick off in the second half. If Arkadiy Anichkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vsevolod Sheptalin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikhail Babichev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Petr Gudtsov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arkadiy Anichkov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Birobidzhan FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Khimki FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Khimki FC.
