Grozny FC's Oleg Shiroboko got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Grozny FC booed when Khimki FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petr Gudtsov didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute, Gennadiy Pestrov fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Vsevolod Sheptalin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gennadiy Pestrov in the 8th minute of the match. Irakliy Kulakov hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the game, Gennadiy Pestrov recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vsevolod Sheptalin. Gennadiy Pestrov showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Gennadiy Pestrov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boris Teplitskiy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Khimki FC's Vsevolod Sheptalin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Khimki FC from getting a goal against them. Daniil Lenskiy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boris Teplitskiy, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. With a little luck, Khimki FC's Vsevolod Sheptalin got control of the ball when Oleg Shiroboko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Spartak Balamykin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Grozny FC's Vladislav Barmanskiy got a free kick in the 44th minute. Yuriy Galkov kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Gennadiy Pestrov made the kick off in the second half. Grozny FC's Gennadiy Pestrov got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Grozny FC's Daniil Lenskiy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Teplitskiy in the 60th minute of play. In the 66th minute Oleg Shiroboko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vsevolod Sheptalin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Khimki FC's Boris Teplitskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Khimki FC's zone, Oleg Shiroboko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vsevolod Sheptalin came out of the goal and Oleg Shiroboko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute, Petr Gudtsov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the game, Grozny FC's Gennadiy Pestrov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vsevolod Sheptalin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. If Oleg Shiroboko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Fedor Sondykov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Khimki FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fedor Sondykov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniil Lenskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Grozny FC's Daniil Lenskiy got control of the ball when Fedor Sondykov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Khimki FC's Fedor Sondykov got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fedor Sondykov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Daniil Lenskiy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grozny FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
