Kim Babochkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Husainov in the 20th minute of the match. Danila Byzov didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Felix Husainov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kim Babochkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Husainov in the 35th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egor Klochko during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Smolensk getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Egor Klochko hit a great ball. Aleksandr Nizovkin kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Obninsk's Felix Husainov got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Felix Husainov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Obninsk's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Husainov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kim Babochkin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Obninsk booed when Smolensk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anatoliy Beloshapkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emmanuil Bezukhov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pavel Larionov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
