Vologda FC's Nikolay Serezhin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Vologda FC from getting a goal against them. After 6 played minutes Belgorod got a freekick which was hit by Arseniy Kryukov. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Belgorod:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vologda FC:s goal. The referee gave Vologda FC a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nikolay Belozor, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Belgorod's Zinoviy Chukovskiy. 0-1. Fedor Karpov's late challenge caught a Belgorod's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fedor Karpov helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vologda FC's Fedor Karpov got a free kick in the 16th minute. Vologda FC's Nikolay Serezhin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Vologda FC from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 20 in the game by Sergey Filippov from a close distance when the talented Nikolay Serezhin managed to make a qualified save. Vologda FC's players were relieved. If Vadim Zheronkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Sergey Filippov made a precise shot to the right of Nikolay Serezhin. Vologda FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Nikolay Serezhin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vadim Zheronkin in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Belgorod booed when Vologda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fedor Karpov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vadim Zheronkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikolay Serezhin having to interfere. Sergey Filippov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nikolay Serezhin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Nikolay Serezhin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vadim Zheronkin in the 40th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Belgorod's zone, Vasiliy Menchukov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zinoviy Chukovskiy came out of the goal and Vasiliy Menchukov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Afanasiy Tomnikov made the kick off in the second half. Nikolay Serezhin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergey Filippov, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, Vasiliy Menchukov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergey Filippov in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nikolay Serezhin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 57 minutes, Artem Barashko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vologda FC and the Belgorod players grew even worse after the yellow card. Artem Barashko kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Nikolay Serezhin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vadim Zheronkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Vologda FC's Fedor Karpov got his second yellow card of the match in the 64th minute. The referee ordered Fedor Karpov off the ground. Belgorod's Arseniy Kryukov couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 65th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vologda FC. After having played for 68 minutes, Vladimir Lisovskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgorod's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimir Lisovskiy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 73 minutes into the game, Vologda FC's Aleksandr Kononov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zinoviy Chukovskiy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The supporters of Vologda FC booed when Belgorod was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Lisovskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Vadim Zheronkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vadim Zheronkin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Belgorod supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vologda FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Vologda FC.
