An unexpectedly hard shot by Rustam Artemov in the 21st minute of play forced Moscow FC's goalkeeper Grigoriy Grishaev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Panteleimon Godunov came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Moscow FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panteleimon Godunov couldn't finish the play. Rustam Artemov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grigoriy Grishaev having to interfere. A collision led to Moscow FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Konstantin Anyukov hit a great ball. Rustam Artemov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Rustam Artemov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saransk's supporters rose to their feet, but Rustam Artemov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Grigoriy Grishaev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saransk's goalkeeper Elisey Smirnov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Efim Maksimov fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saransk's protests and gave Efim Maksimov a yellow card for diving instead. The Moscow FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Grigoriy Grishaev should have stopped the shot. In the 56th minute Eremey Titov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elisey Smirnov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Saransk's Rustam Artemov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Grigoriy Grishaev narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
