In the 13th minute, Igor Sarmatov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shchelkovo's David Fetisov got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mikhail Pershin charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mikhail Pershin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes Severodvinsk FC got a freekick which was hit by Mikhail Pershin. Vadim Anikanov might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filipp Erlychenkov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vadim Anikanov ran back to his position shaking his head. Filipp Erlychenkov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marat Shergin in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

A collision led to Shchelkovo getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Matvey Kalinichev hit a great ball. Marat Shergin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipp Erlychenkov having to interfere. In the 64thth minute of the game Marat Shergin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shchelkovo's Filipp Erlychenkov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Shchelkovo's zone, Vadim Anikanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filipp Erlychenkov came out of the goal and Vadim Anikanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th minute, Mikhail Gagen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Yuriy Strebkov, passed just outside the right post. The audience was convinced that Mikhail Gagen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yuriy Strebkov was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. When Matvey Kalinichev fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shchelkovo's protests and gave Matvey Kalinichev a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Shchelkovo's Matvey Kalinichev got a free kick in the 77th minute. Filipp Erlychenkov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vadim Anikanov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Severodvinsk FC defense, Mikhail Gagen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yuriy Strebkov. The Severodvinsk FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yuriy Strebkov should have stopped the shot. 91 minutes into the match, David Fetisov dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Yuriy Strebkov, 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
