Dmitriy Merhelevich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Nikolay Misyurov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nikolay Misyurov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gennadiy Chernichenko in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniil Mizinov made a kick off. When Timofey Vityazev fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC's protests and gave Timofey Vityazev a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC! Evgeniy Sobolev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniil Mizinov's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Gennadiy Chernichenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikolay Misyurov having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gennadiy Chernichenko got free with Nikolay Misyurov in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gennadiy Chernichenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerasim Gorohov's late challenge caught a Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerasim Gorohov helped the player get up and apologised. Gennadiy Chernichenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute Daniil Mizinov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evgeniy Sobolev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Efim Kirillov fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. If Daniil Mizinov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irakliy Koltakov hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match.
