Cheboksary FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Novotroitsk the free kick. 26 minutes into the match, Novotroitsk's goalkeeper Afanasiy Danilov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduard Dolmatovskiy. After some careless play in the Cheboksary FC defense, Vladislav Gladuschenko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valeriy Hropach. The Cheboksary FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valeriy Hropach should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Matvey Kuryndin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valeriy Hropach was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Matvey Kuryndin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valeriy Hropach having to interfere. Eduard Dolmatovskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Afanasiy Danilov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Ananasov in the 40th minute of play forced Novotroitsk's goalkeeper Afanasiy Danilov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roman Ananasov was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. Cheboksary FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Roman Ananasov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cheboksary FC's zone, Vladislav Gladuschenko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valeriy Hropach came out of the goal and Vladislav Gladuschenko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valeriy Hropach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matvey Kuryndin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matvey Kuryndin to strike the kick off in the second half. If Vladislav Gladuschenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Danil Terentiev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roman Ananasov took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Afanasiy Danilov. Afanasiy Danilov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Valeriy Hropach took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matvey Kuryndin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matvey Kuryndin in the 74th minute of play forced Cheboksary FC's goalkeeper Valeriy Hropach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Roman Ananasov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cheboksary FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roman Ananasov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afanasiy Danilov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Novotroitsk's Matvey Kuryndin got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
