Gordey Trofimov kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Velimir Temryuk was extremely unlucky when he, in the 16th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rostislav Grechanov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rostislav Grechanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Oleg Aizenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roman Belyaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Rostov-on-Don booed when Moscow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veniamin Malikov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Moscow's goalkeeper Denis Rodionov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roman Belyaev. Gordey Trofimov hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Rostislav Grechanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vladimir Belozerskih fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oleg Aizenberg having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Velimir Temryuk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Sergey Domogarov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oleg Aizenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Rostov-on-Don getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Roman Belyaev hit a great ball. When Vyacheslav Bolsheglazov fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rostov-on-Don's protests and gave Vyacheslav Bolsheglazov a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Vladimir Belozerskih managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moscow's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimir Belozerskih was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oleg Aizenberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladimir Belozerskih blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oleg Aizenberg having to make a save. In the 60th minute, Rostislav Grechanov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vladimir Belozerskih succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 61st playminute. Velimir Temryuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Rodionov having to interfere. Rostislav Grechanov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute, Rostislav Grechanov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oleg Aizenberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rostislav Grechanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Moscow's Vladimir Belozerskih got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rostislav Grechanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Rostov-on-Don's Oleg Aizenberg got control of the ball when Vladimir Belozerskih tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute, Gordey Trofimov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aleksey Sverchkov, 85 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Vladimir Belozerskih could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Oleg Aizenberg made a huge save. Vladimir Belozerskih sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Moscow could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rostov-on-Don throughout the match.
