The audience was convinced that Vladislav Vekshin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Artem Ananko was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Noyabrsk's Andrey Faustov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Polyanskiy in the 11th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Vladislav Vekshin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Artem Ananko. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. In the 22ndth minute of the game Vladislav Vekshin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Smolensk's Artem Ananko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute Vladislav Vekshin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artem Ananko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Vasiliy Sedov cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Artem Ananko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vasiliy Sedov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladislav Vekshin got in the 33rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Artem Ananko handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Arseniy Chepelevskiy's late challenge caught a Noyabrsk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arseniy Chepelevskiy helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Smolensk got a freekick which was hit by Arseniy Chepelevskiy. If Vasiliy Sedov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Vladislav Vekshin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aleksey Alekseev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Vasiliy Sedov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladislav Vekshin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasiliy Sedov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, Arseniy Chepelevskiy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladislav Vekshin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Artem Ananko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Vladislav Vekshin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Artem Ananko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladislav Vekshin in the 85th minute of the match. Vasiliy Sedov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artem Ananko having to interfere. Smolensk were furious when Anatoliy Bubchikov was red carded, 91 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Smolensk fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty!
