Stepan Shalimov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adrian Mandrykin went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anatoliy Pisarev in the 15th minute of play forced Sportting's goalkeeper Stepan Shalimov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Grigoriy Samoilenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stepan Shalimov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigoriy Samoilenko in the 19th minute of the match. Korvet's Mikhail Chichin got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Adrian Mandrykin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stepan Shalimov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Adrian Mandrykin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Stepan Shalimov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vsevolod Haritonov took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Stepan Shalimov. Sportting's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Grigoriy Samoilenko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Stepan Shalimov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrey Glagolev during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Andrey Glagolev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mikhail Chichin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Stepan Shalimov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anatoliy Pisarev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sportting's zone, Grigoriy Samoilenko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stepan Shalimov came out of the goal and Grigoriy Samoilenko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd match minute, Sportting was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeriy Denisov to maneuver through the defense. Stepan Shalimov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anatoliy Pisarev in the 44th minute of play. Sportting's Stepan Shalimov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anatoliy Pisarev in the 47th minute of play.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Grigoriy Samoilenko made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Grigoriy Samoilenko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Korvet fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Mikhail Chichin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Korvet's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikhail Chichin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stepan Shalimov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute Igor Savkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Bezsrebrennikov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Adrian Mandrykin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Korvet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Mandrykin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stepan Shalimov made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Grigoriy Samoilenko sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the match, Mikhail Chichin notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Sportting's Stepan Shalimov. Stepan Shalimov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stepan Shalimov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Grigoriy Samoilenko went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Fedor Lobanovskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stepan Shalimov having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Sportting got a freekick which was hit by Pavel Seleznev. 87 minutes into the match, Korvet's Mikhail Chichin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stepan Shalimov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Grigoriy Samoilenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stepan Shalimov having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Korvet left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sportting.
