In the 13th minute, Afanasiy Todorovskiy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Novomoskovsk's Vasiliy Rakhmanin got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Novomoskovsk booed when Анжи Махачкала was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danila Gusev didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Konstantin Baklagin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Анжи Махачкала's much stronger midfield.
