Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, Petrozavodsk's goalkeeper Vladimir Kulikov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vitaliy Karuzin. Petrozavodsk's Vladimir Kulikov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Petrozavodsk from getting a goal against them. When Oleg Smirnov came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Tula fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oleg Smirnov couldn't finish the play. Tula's Aleksandr Trakhtenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vadim Libin in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Lytkin in the 10th minute of play forced Tula's goalkeeper Aleksandr Trakhtenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Petrozavodsk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mikhail Grigoriev was slow to take the kick. During this time Tula's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Aleksandr Krivoshlykov got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vladimir Kulikov quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 18th minute, Oleg Smirnov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vladimir Kulikov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viktor Matov in the 22nd minute of play forced Tula's goalkeeper Aleksandr Trakhtenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Oleg Smirnov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tula fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Oleg Smirnov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Igor Lytkin struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Aleksandr Trakhtenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petrozavodsk. After 41 played minutes Tula got a freekick which was hit by Daniil Govorov. In the 44th minute, Vadim Libin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aleksandr Trakhtenberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anatoliy Slepnev during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Anatoliy Slepnev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladimir Kulikov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oleg Smirnov in the 50th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Igor Lytkin made a kick off. If Vadim Libin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vadim Libin's late challenge caught a Tula's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vadim Libin helped the player get up and apologised. Vadim Libin hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. When Vadim Libin, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 59 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Aleksandr Trakhtenberg was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With his leg Aleksandr Trakhtenberg managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Petrozavodsk's Vadim Libin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Petrozavodsk getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Anatoliy Slepnev hit a great ball. Mikhail Grigoriev missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 64 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Vladimir Kulikov right hand side. Igor Lytkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksandr Trakhtenberg having to interfere. When Petrozavodsk's Igor Lytkin in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tula's goalie prevented a goal. 76 minutes into the match, Igor Lytkin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aleksandr Trakhtenberg, 2-3. After a rather tough play, Tula's Daniil Govorov got a free kick in the 79th minute. Vadim Libin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Aleksandr Trakhtenberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Aleksandr Trakhtenberg acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vladimir Akunin. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Tula's goalkeeper Aleksandr Trakhtenberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vadim Libin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aleksandr Trakhtenberg firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Tula supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Petrozavodsk's performance. The match ended with a win for Petrozavodsk.
