Andrey Osyanin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pavel Nikolaev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Popov having to interfere. Pavel Fateev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Felix Popov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pavel Nikolaev was the one to do the kick off. If Pavel Nikolaev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Novokuznetsk FC's Andrey Osyanin got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Kaliningrad's Pavel Nikolaev ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Felix Popov. Felix Popov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Anatoliy Karyaka charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anatoliy Karyaka the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Kaliningrad's Anatoliy Karyaka got a free kick in the 61st minute. Anatoliy Karyaka hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Egor Davydov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Felix Popov made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Novokuznetsk FC's Dmitriy Buzov got a free kick in the 67th minute. Pavel Fateev struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Kaliningrad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andrey Osyanin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The supporters of Kaliningrad booed when Novokuznetsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vyacheslav Shvedkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dmitriy Buzov took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vasiliy Pogrebnyak. Vasiliy Pogrebnyak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kaliningrad players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Novokuznetsk FC.
