Vyacheslav Kondrashov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valeriy Gusev in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiy Somov in the 37th minute of play forced Artem's goalkeeper Anton Eliseev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vyacheslav Yazykov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vyacheslav Yazykov was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Cheboksary's Ilya Trakhtenberg got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Veniamin Arhipov sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cheboksary's Vyacheslav Kondrashov didn't even have to move. After 90 minutes, Andrey Dublin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Artem and the Cheboksary players grew even worse after the yellow card. Anton Eliseev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vyacheslav Yazykov in the 92nd minute of play. A collision led to Artem getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Andrey Dublin hit a great ball. Cheboksary were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after Artem's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leonid Grishanin took the corner. The Cheboksary players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
