After a defensive mix-up in Chelyabinsk FC's zone, Vasiliy Kolomeitsev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grigoriy Avdeev came out of the goal and Vasiliy Kolomeitsev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Elets booed when Chelyabinsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pavel Kenevich didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vladislav Shevotsukov came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Elets fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladislav Shevotsukov couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute, Vasiliy Kolomeitsev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vladislav Shevotsukov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Grigoriy Avdeev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nikita Lebedenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Oleg Dimitrov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelyabinsk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oleg Dimitrov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arseniy Kapranov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Arseniy Kapranov managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Chelyabinsk FC's Pavel Kenevich fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Nikita Lebedenko fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelyabinsk FC's protests and gave Nikita Lebedenko a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd match minute, Chelyabinsk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikita Lebedenko to maneuver through the defense. Grigoriy Avdeev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasiliy Kolomeitsev in the 48th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladislav Shevotsukov to make the kick off. Pavel Kenevich hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Chelyabinsk FC's goalkeeper Grigoriy Avdeev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vasiliy Kolomeitsev. After 62 played minutes Chelyabinsk FC got a freekick which was hit by Yaroslav Spitsin. 65 minutes into the game, one of Chelyabinsk FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Nikita Lebedenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chelyabinsk FC's Nikita Lebedenko got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pavel Kenevich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arseniy Kapranov having to interfere. Pavel Kenevich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Arseniy Kapranov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Chelyabinsk FC's Oleg Dimitrov got a free kick in the 99th minute. The Chelyabinsk FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Elets's performance. The match ended with a win for Elets.
