Boris Pogorelyi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rudolf Orlov's late challenge caught a Saint Petersburg HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rudolf Orlov helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Omsk getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Rudolf Orlov hit a great ball. Omsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saint Petersburg HC the free kick. The supporters of Saint Petersburg HC booed when Omsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanislav Razuvanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grigoriy Kunin kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The excitement rose when Omsk's Ostap Lyakhov after 42 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Saint Petersburg HC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ippolit Bolotov made a kick off. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saint Petersburg HC's goalkeeper Yaroslav Ryumin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Omsk's Boris Pogorelyi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilya Vladimirov in the 63rd minute of play. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saint Petersburg HC's goalkeeper Yaroslav Ryumin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Yaroslav Ryumin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniil Koshmarov in the 69th minute. Yaroslav Ryumin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniil Koshmarov in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Omsk left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Saint Petersburg HC.
