The crowd rose to their feet as Ippolit Aniskin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kirill Shanskov. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valeriy Vartazarov in the 7th minute of play forced Magnitogorsk's goalkeeper Timur Arshavin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th match minute, Perm FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuriy Grinberg to maneuver through the defense. Iosif Efimov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Magnitogorsk's goal looked a bit too open when Valeriy Vartazarov came free, but Timur Arshavin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodion Dovetov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirill Shanskov having to interfere. After some careless play in the Magnitogorsk defense, Valeriy Vartazarov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timur Arshavin. The Magnitogorsk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timur Arshavin should have stopped the shot. Kirill Shanskov made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Rodion Dovetov sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes into the match, Magnitogorsk's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Mirkin came free, but Timur Arshavin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nikolay Haritonov hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute, Veniamin Grudnitskiy sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Magnitogorsk's Timur Arshavin didn't even have to move. 45 minutes into the game, Mikhail Molchanov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Magnitogorsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perm FC the free kick. A collision led to Magnitogorsk getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Mikhail Molchanov hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Iosif Efimov made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Perm FC got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Mirkin. When Anton Pashin fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Magnitogorsk's protests and gave Anton Pashin a yellow card for diving instead. Anton Pashin kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. If Ivan Mirkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iosif Efimov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirill Shanskov having to interfere. Nikolay Haritonov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirill Shanskov having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodion Dovetov in the 66th minute of play forced Perm FC's goalkeeper Kirill Shanskov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Magnitogorsk fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Magnitogorsk's Rodion Dovetov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Iosif Efimov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kirill Shanskov having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Perm FC's Yuriy Grinberg got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Iosif Efimov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Kirill Shanskov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timur Arshavin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Mirkin in the 83rd minute of the match. Iosif Efimov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kirill Shanskov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Magnitogorsk's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
