When German Dolgiy came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Oktyabrsky fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that German Dolgiy couldn't finish the play. German Dolgiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gerasim Borozdin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Egor Lyubavin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oktyabrsky's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ulyanovsk the free kick. After 15 played minutes Oktyabrsky got a freekick which was hit by Egor Lyubavin. Maksim Kobelev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ulyanovsk's Gerasim Borozdin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Ulyanovsk from getting a goal against them. Gerasim Borozdin didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 31st minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Konstantin Slavutin might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denis Fursenko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
