Valentin Krylov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir Budagov in the 29th minute of the match. Maksim Naumov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Krylov having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Nizhnekamsk's Vladimir Zaretskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Vladimir Zaretskiy sped through Ulan-Ude's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Igor Lihachev. If Georgiy Nikolaev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimir Budagov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Valentin Krylov made a huge save. 64 minutes into the game, David Shamshurin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nizhnekamsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ulan-Ude the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nizhnekamsk fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Ulan-Ude. Nikita Isakov stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Valentin Krylov. 1-1. 72 minutes into the match, Ulan-Ude's goal looked a bit too open when Erast Lolaev came free, but Igor Lihachev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Nizhnekamsk's goalkeeper Valentin Krylov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vladimir Budagov. In the 82nd minute Vladimir Zaretskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Lihachev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erast Lolaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valentin Krylov was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Maksim Naumov showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 89 minute of play. Irakliy Gaprindashvili charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Irakliy Gaprindashvili the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Igor Lihachev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erast Lolaev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ulan-Ude had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
