Petr Krilovetskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roman Kulakov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Filipp Gilmutdinov made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grigoriy Gribanov in the 20th minute of play forced Shahty's goalkeeper Nikita Olshanskiy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Filimon Naumov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shahty's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filimon Naumov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Grigoriy Gribanov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moscow FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Grigoriy Gribanov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nikita Olshanskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Grigoriy Gribanov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filimon Naumov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipp Gilmutdinov having to interfere. Roman Kulakov in the 48thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Filipp Gilmutdinov, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 70th minute, Shahty's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Grigoriy Gribanov fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 77th minute Filimon Naumov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipp Gilmutdinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
