The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Pavel Afanasev notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Birobidzhan's Vladislav Roenkov. Vladislav Roenkov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Pavel Afanasev came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the Tver fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pavel Afanasev couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pavel Afanasev was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 55 minutes, Pavel Afanasev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tver's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Afanasev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Birobidzhan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Pavel Afanasev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Vladislav Roenkov made a huge save. Tver's Pavel Afanasev got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Tver booed when Birobidzhan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vsevolod Balduev didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Birobidzhan's goalkeeper Vladislav Roenkov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pavel Afanasev. If Pavel Afanasev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tver's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
