An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonid Ryzhenko in the 13th minute of play forced Young Kuban guys's goalkeeper Vitaliy Pronichev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vitaliy Pronichev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonid Ryzhenko in the 15th minute of the match. Vitaliy Pronichev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konstantin Kotovskiy in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Moscow's zone, Stanislav Kelep stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denis Rusakov came out of the goal and Stanislav Kelep tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Young Kuban guys getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Artur Belousov hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Ernest Sinebryuhov sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vitaliy Pronichev skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanislav Kelep got free with Denis Rusakov in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Moscow's Savva Scherbakov got a free kick in the 31st minute. If Leonid Ryzhenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitaliy Pronichev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Konstantin Kotovskiy's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Konstantin Kotovskiy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitaliy Pronichev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. When Valeriy Nabokov fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moscow's protests and gave Valeriy Nabokov a yellow card for diving instead. Valeriy Nabokov hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Young Kuban guys's goalkeeper Vitaliy Pronichev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Moscow's Dmitriy Vysotskiy got a free kick in the 64th minute. Young Kuban guys's Vitaliy Pronichev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Young Kuban guys from getting a goal against them. If Stanislav Kelep had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Young Kuban guys's Vsevolod Kuznetsov pulled a muscle in his leg after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of Young Kuban guys booed when Moscow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Savva Scherbakov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Leonid Ryzhenko notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Young Kuban guys's Vitaliy Pronichev. Vitaliy Pronichev was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vitaliy Pronichev made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Leonid Ryzhenko sent off a good shot on target. Denis Rusakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanislav Kelep in the 90th minute of play. The Young Kuban guys supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Moscow's performance. The match ended with a win for Moscow.
