After having played for 12 minutes, Arkadiy Lotorev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shinnik Yaroslavl's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arkadiy Lotorev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vasiliy Kefalidi kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Gert Björnsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Pavel Gnezditskiy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Shinnik Yaroslavl booed when Krasnoyarsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boris Kirillov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Krasnoyarsk FC's zone, Stanislav Onenko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The coaching staff of Krasnoyarsk FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vsevolod Baibakov had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 44 minutes into the game, one of Krasnoyarsk FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 47th minute there was a penalty for Shinnik Yaroslavl. Oleg Gorbachev stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pavel Gnezditskiy. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Prokl Zvyagintsev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pavel Gnezditskiy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gert Björnsson's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gert Björnsson in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavel Gnezditskiy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute, Gert Björnsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shinnik Yaroslavl fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When Anton Gromov fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Krasnoyarsk FC's protests and gave Anton Gromov a yellow card for diving instead. Anton Gromov hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Shinnik Yaroslavl fully deserved thier win.
