Igor Vampilov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vsevolod Shiryaev, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Dmitriy Zangareev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matvey Dmitriev in the 15th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marat Goltyaev during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vsevolod Shiryaev received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Igor Vampilov came out and tried to block the shot, but Vsevolod Shiryaev slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vsevolod Shiryaev was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Marino's Rudolf Alekseenko got a free kick in the 58th minute.
