Valeriy Averchenko struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Petr Zyatkov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cheboksary FC. Rudolf Kudryavtsev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Petropavlovsk-Kamch. FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rudolf Kudryavtsev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valeriy Averchenko hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The tension between the Petropavlovsk-Kamch. FC and the Cheboksary FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rudolf Kudryavtsev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oleg Shiryaev having to interfere. Kirill Sharipov took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oleg Shiryaev. Oleg Shiryaev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Petropavlovsk-Kamch. FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
