Korolev HC's Klim Broshin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timofey Krylov in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Valeriy Kartovenko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Korolev HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Novokuznetsk the free kick. In the 18th match minute, Korolev HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valeriy Kartovenko to maneuver through the defense. Klim Broshin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dmitriy Gusev in the 23rd minute of the match. Klim Broshin went to the wrong direction when Rustam Gudarenko was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 32 played minutes Korolev HC got a freekick which was hit by Valeriy Kartovenko. Rustam Gudarenko was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dmitriy Gusev in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Klim Broshin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Stanislav Milioti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dmitriy Gusev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Novokuznetsk booed when Korolev HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriy Kartovenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 45 minutes Korolev HC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rustam Gudarenko who took care of the corner kick. When Dmitriy Rusakov came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Novokuznetsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dmitriy Rusakov couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dmitriy Gusev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Timofey Krylov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Klim Broshin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dmitriy Gusev, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The audience was convinced that Arseniy Terentiev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vasiliy Stechkin was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Korolev HC's goalkeeper Klim Broshin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arseniy Terentiev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Vasiliy Stechkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Novokuznetsk's Vasiliy Stechkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikhail Agaltsov in the 84th minute of play. Dmitriy Ardashov kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The supporters of Korolev HC booed when Novokuznetsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanislav Milioti didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikhail Agaltsov in the 92nd minute of play forced Novokuznetsk's goalkeeper Vasiliy Stechkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Klim Broshin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dmitriy Gusev in the 93rd minute of the match. When the match was over Novokuznetsk could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Korolev HC throughout the match.
