In the 10th minute Valeriy Gronskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantin Kornelyuk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rudolf Potapov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Konstantin Kornelyuk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valeriy Gronskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolf Potapov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstantin Kornelyuk having to interfere. The supporters of Vladikavkaz FC booed when Kovrov FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efim Bryusov didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Vyacheslav Bubnov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Konstantin Kornelyuk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriy Gronskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rudolf Potapov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vladikavkaz FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! Stanislav Anisimov placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 55th match minute, Vladikavkaz FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anton Tyapochkin to maneuver through the defense. Kovrov FC's Stanislav Anisimov couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vladikavkaz FC. In the 60th minute, Vyacheslav Bubnov made a precise shot to the right of Sergey Dublennikov. Kovrov FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 63rd minute Valeriy Gronskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantin Kornelyuk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vladikavkaz FC's Anton Tyapochkin got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute of the match, Rudolf Potapov got a very nice opportunity to score, but Konstantin Kornelyuk was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Sergey Dublennikov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Politov in the 82nd minute of the match. German Politov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Kovrov FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Evgeniy Haritonov hit a great ball. Sergey Dublennikov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Politov in the 90th minute of play. Valeriy Gronskiy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolf Potapov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Vladikavkaz FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Nikolay Suhanov hit a great ball. Konstantin Kornelyuk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rudolf Potapov went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vladikavkaz FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kovrov FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
