With an all-out effort, Tver's Evgeniy Pirin threw himself towards the right post 2 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Arkadiy Bulykin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 4th minute Arkadiy Bulykin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evgeniy Pirin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirill Chuchev in the 6th minute of play forced Tver's goalkeeper Danil Nosov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Igor Savin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Evgeniy Pirin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arkadiy Bulykin in the 15th minute of play forced Saransk's goalkeeper Evgeniy Pirin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th play minute Igor Savin came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Evgeniy Pirin. 1-0. After having played for 23 minutes, Kirill Chuchev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saransk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kirill Chuchev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th minute Kirill Chuchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danil Nosov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Tver's goal looked a bit too open when Kirill Chuchev came free, but Danil Nosov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Roman Chalov fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tver's protests and gave Roman Chalov a yellow card for diving instead. Roman Chalov hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When Saransk's Kirill Chuchev in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tver's goalie prevented a goal. In the 35th minute, Dmitriy Abramyan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the game, Igor Savin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Evgeniy Pirin. Igor Savin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When Pavel Kobtsev came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Saransk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pavel Kobtsev couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arkadiy Bulykin in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evgeniy Pirin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Igor Savin struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Evgeniy Pirin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tver. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arkadiy Bulykin was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Saransk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dmitriy Abramyan to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute of the match Stepan Rozanov shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evgeniy Pirin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 59th minute, Arkadiy Bulykin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Igor Savin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Savin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evgeniy Pirin having to interfere. Stepan Rozanov hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Danil Nosov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirill Chuchev in the 78th minute of the match. Arkadiy Nazarov's late challenge caught a Saransk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arkadiy Nazarov helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Tver getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Arkadiy Nazarov hit a great ball. Kirill Chuchev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danil Nosov having to interfere. Danil Nosov went to the wrong direction when Daniil Kantariya was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirill Chuchev in the 94th minute of play forced Tver's goalkeeper Danil Nosov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Igor Savin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evgeniy Pirin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mark Galkin tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Evgeniy Pirin. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-0 in the 98th minute. Tver's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
