Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Podolsk HC the free kick. The supporters of Podolsk HC booed when Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikhail Tarhanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ayvaz Hazret came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ayvaz Hazret couldn't finish the play. Podolsk HC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
