In the 15th minute, Konstantin Ditin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Oleg Cherepko managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Nizhnekamsk FC's Aleksandr Hodin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nizhnekamsk FC's Ernest Yakovlev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aleksandr Arhipov in the 21st minute of play. In the 31st minute, Vadim Krivosheev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Aleksandr Hodin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oleg Cherepko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kirill Orekhov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernest Yakovlev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Ryabintsev, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. When Aleksandr Hodin came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Nizhnekamsk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleksandr Hodin couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Kirill Orekhov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nizhnekamsk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kirill Orekhov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oleg Cherepko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Felix Ryabintsev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aleksandr Arhipov to strike the kick off in the second half. Ernest Yakovlev didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 60th minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. Ernest Yakovlev came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Sergiev Posad FC's Felix Ryabintsev. But to his dismay, Felix Ryabintsev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ernest Yakovlev made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Felix Ryabintsev sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Nizhnekamsk FC's Ernest Yakovlev got control of the ball when Felix Ryabintsev tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Savva Sheremetov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the game, Boris Artemenko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sergiev Posad FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nizhnekamsk FC the free kick. In the 84th match minute, Sergiev Posad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boris Artemenko to maneuver through the defense. Felix Ryabintsev who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Ernest Yakovlev when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kirill Orekhov might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oleg Cherepko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kirill Orekhov ran back to his position shaking his head. 96 minutes into the game, Aleksandr Hodin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Oleg Cherepko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Nizhnekamsk FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sergiev Posad FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sergiev Posad FC.
