Kopeysk HC's Vladimir Nosov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Askold Alekseenko in the 29th minute of play. The supporters of Kopeysk HC booed when Velikiy Novgorod was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egor Bystrov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boris Pakhomov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Velikiy Novgorod's goalkeeper Boris Potapov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Boris Pakhomov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kopeysk HC's goalkeeper Vladimir Nosov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matvey Kostikov to make the kick off. Askold Alekseenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kopeysk HC's Leonid Kiselev got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Klim Kovalev during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Velikiy Novgorod was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klim Kovalev to maneuver through the defense. If Leonid Kiselev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Leonid Kiselev managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kopeysk HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonid Kiselev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boris Potapov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute, Matvey Kostikov made a precise shot to the right of Boris Potapov. Velikiy Novgorod's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. A collision led to Velikiy Novgorod getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Klim Kovalev hit a great ball. The Velikiy Novgorod supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kopeysk HC's performance. The match ended with a win for Kopeysk HC.
