The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stanislav Fomin in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stanislav Konovalov saved Severodvinsk from getting behind. When Mark Liholobov came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Achinsk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Liholobov couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Severodvinsk's zone, Mark Liholobov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanislav Konovalov came out of the goal and Mark Liholobov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Mark Liholobov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Achinsk FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Liholobov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yuriy Kruglikov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evgeniy Samsov having to interfere. Evgeniy Samsov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kirill Karyakin in the 19th minute of play. Stanislav Fomin struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Stanislav Konovalov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Achinsk FC. Mikhail Kondrashin's late challenge caught a Achinsk FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mikhail Kondrashin helped the player get up and apologised. Mikhail Kondrashin hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kirill Karyakin was the one to do the kick off. Stanislav Konovalov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanislav Fomin in the 58th minute of play. Georgiy Pervuhin charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Georgiy Pervuhin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Severodvinsk getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evgeniy Samsov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81st minute Stanislav Fomin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Konovalov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Achinsk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kirill Karyakin came free, but Evgeniy Samsov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Severodvinsk's Yuriy Kruglikov in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
