The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Mezhdurechensk FC's Valeriy Zhukov got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 12th minute Filimon Novitskiy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Filippenkov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anatoliy Evseev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Marat Borisov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nikolay Medvedev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Seversk FC booed when Mezhdurechensk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gennadiy Mamiashvili didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stanislav Filippenkov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Irakliy Zotov's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Anatoliy Evseev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marat Borisov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arkadiy Goldberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gennadiy Mamiashvili kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Andrey Lyubinskiy missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 35 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Stanislav Filippenkov right hand side. Seversk FC's Irakliy Zotov got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filimon Novitskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Stanislav Filippenkov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stanislav Filippenkov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irakliy Zotov in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Filimon Novitskiy made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Seversk FC booed when Mezhdurechensk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valeriy Zhukov didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anatoliy Evseev in the 63rd minute of play forced Seversk FC's goalkeeper Marat Borisov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Seversk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anatoliy Evseev came free, but Marat Borisov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Irakliy Zotov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Filippenkov having to interfere. Irakliy Zotov struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Stanislav Filippenkov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seversk FC. If Arkadiy Goldberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filimon Novitskiy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th match minute, Mezhdurechensk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evgeniy Bezukhov to maneuver through the defense. Stanislav Filippenkov made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Irakliy Zotov sent off a good shot on target. Irakliy Zotov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislav Filippenkov having to interfere. Mezhdurechensk FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Seversk FC had controlled the match.
