Prokl Bogdanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dmitriy Mitryashkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Vladimir Fomenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aleksey Mordvinov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Rustam Monaenkov's late challenge caught a Noginsk FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Semen Troinitskiy during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Semen Troinitskiy hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vladimir Replyanskiy made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dmitriy Mitryashkin got free with Prokl Bogdanov in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Vladimir Fomenko came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Noginsk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimir Fomenko couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Vladimir Fomenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Noginsk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladimir Fomenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prokl Bogdanov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dmitriy Mitryashkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Vladimir Fomenko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladimir Replyanskiy took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Genrikh Yanushevskiy. Genrikh Yanushevskiy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Noginsk FC's zone, Vladimir Replyanskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Genrikh Yanushevskiy came out of the goal and Vladimir Replyanskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Petrozavodsk booed when Noginsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anatoliy Antonov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Genrikh Yanushevskiy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleksey Mordvinov in the 75th minute of the match. If Aleksey Mordvinov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Vladimir Fomenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Petrozavodsk had won after a very even match.
