Stepan Tihin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerasim Mitrodorov in the 35th minute of play. Kirill Kirilenko kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Vyacheslav Ryumin hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Gerasim Mitrodorov made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that May Borovin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pavel Bulochkin was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Pyatigorsk's zone, Gerasim Mitrodorov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stepan Tihin came out of the goal and Gerasim Mitrodorov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute, Andrey Zhuravlev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
