Yakov Kumov started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Yakov Kumov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Konstantin Dvinskiy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fedosey Pastuhov in the 42nd minute of the match. Nil Kovalev was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. Moscow's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After the first half Khimki FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fedosey Pastuhov was the one to do the kick off. In the 61st minute Fedosey Pastuhov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konstantin Dvinskiy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stanislav Isaev couldn't finish the play. Konstantin Dvinskiy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fedosey Pastuhov, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Petr Yurchik might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rasul Zabuldygin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Petr Yurchik ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Khimki FC's Yakov Kumov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rasul Zabuldygin.
