After a rather tough play, Ulyanovsk's Yulian Bobylev got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute, Samuil Aksenov sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ulyanovsk's Rudolf Malafeev didn't even have to move. In the 7th minute, Yulian Bobylev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ulyanovsk's zone, Egor Dedyushko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolf Malafeev came out of the goal and Egor Dedyushko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute, Gennadiy Lisevich made a precise shot to the right of Rudolf Malafeev. Ulyanovsk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Gennadiy Lisevich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Rudolf Malafeev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ulyanovsk's zone, Gennadiy Lisevich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolf Malafeev came out of the goal and Gennadiy Lisevich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Ulyanovsk defense, Egor Dedyushko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rudolf Malafeev. The Ulyanovsk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rudolf Malafeev should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Egor Dedyushko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rudolf Malafeev was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After 28 minutes, Yan Kachinskiy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arzamas FC and the Ulyanovsk players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Arzamas FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Yan Kachinskiy hit a great ball. Andrey Emelyanov made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Daniil Petrov sent off a good shot on target. Rudolf Malafeev came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Arzamas FC's Gennadiy Lisevich. But to his dismay, Gennadiy Lisevich quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egor Dedyushko in the 35th minute of play forced Ulyanovsk's goalkeeper Rudolf Malafeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Pavel Groshkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pavel Groshkov was the one to do the kick off. Gennadiy Lisevich took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rudolf Malafeev. Rudolf Malafeev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egor Dedyushko in the 57th minute of play forced Ulyanovsk's goalkeeper Rudolf Malafeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Egor Dedyushko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rudolf Malafeev was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. If Gennadiy Lisevich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute of the match Samuil Aksenov sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rudolf Malafeev skillfully saved the ball. Rudolf Malafeev came out of the goal and Gennadiy Lisevich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arzamas FC's Andrey Emelyanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniil Petrov in the 72nd minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Ulyanovsk's goalkeeper Rudolf Malafeev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gennadiy Lisevich. Andrey Emelyanov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniil Petrov went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Ulyanovsk's Rudolf Malafeev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egor Dedyushko in the 83rd minute of play. Egor Dedyushko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulyanovsk's Rudolf Malafeev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Ulyanovsk from getting a goal against them. Rudolf Malafeev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gennadiy Lisevich in the 96th minute. When the match was over Arzamas FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ulyanovsk throughout the match.
