Alfred Medvedev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksey Krivonogov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Velikiy Novgorod's Arseniy Emelyanov got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Orsk FC booed when Velikiy Novgorod was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Shastik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vyacheslav Kalashnikov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasiliy Tsirenschikov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Kamov, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Arseniy Emelyanov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vasiliy Tsirenschikov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. If Albert Kamov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Arseniy Emelyanov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vasiliy Tsirenschikov. Orsk FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arseniy Emelyanov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Vasiliy Tsirenschikov made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Arseniy Emelyanov sent off a good shot on target. Alfred Medvedev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir Samoilov in the 36th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Orsk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Kamov came free, but Vasiliy Tsirenschikov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albert Kamov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladimir Samoilov struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Alfred Medvedev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Orsk FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Arseniy Emelyanov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velikiy Novgorod's supporters rose to their feet, but Arseniy Emelyanov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasiliy Tsirenschikov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albert Kamov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vasiliy Tsirenschikov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Kamov in the 52nd minute of play. 52 minutes into the game, Aleksey Krivonogov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Orsk FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Velikiy Novgorod the free kick. In the 62ndth minute of the game Albert Kamov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Orsk FC's Vasiliy Tsirenschikov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Orsk FC's zone, Arseniy Emelyanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vasiliy Tsirenschikov came out of the goal and Arseniy Emelyanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albert Kamov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasiliy Tsirenschikov having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Albert Kamov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Velikiy Novgorod's Vyacheslav Skachinskiy got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 82nd minute Arseniy Emelyanov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasiliy Tsirenschikov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Kamov kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Vladimir Samoilov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arseniy Emelyanov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vasiliy Tsirenschikov having to make a save. Velikiy Novgorod's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
