The tension between the Sochi FC and the Nizhny Tagil HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Spiridon Gern kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Nizhny Tagil HC's Denis Rudzutak got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Nizhny Tagil HC's zone, Ippolit Yatskovskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ippolit Babarykin came out of the goal and Ippolit Yatskovskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Nizhny Tagil HC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Nikita Egorov hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ippolit Yatskovskiy in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ippolit Babarykin saved Nizhny Tagil HC from getting behind. Ippolit Babarykin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ippolit Yatskovskiy's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Ippolit Yatskovskiy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sochi FC's Ippolit Yatskovskiy got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
