At first the shot seemed to be simple for Salavat's Aleksey Torsunov to catch but Vitaliy Kosousov was lucky. It became 0-2 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Aleksey Torsunov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Aleksey Torsunov made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Sergey Melkonov sent off a good shot on target. Felix Golovlev was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 89 minutes into the match. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Salavat! Salavat's Aleksey Torsunov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gennadiy Chizhevskiy in the 96th minute of play. After having played for 98 minutes, Sergey Melkonov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zhukovsky's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergey Melkonov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gennadiy Chizhevskiy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Zhukovsky had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
