When Boris Scherbov came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Kaluga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boris Scherbov couldn't finish the play. Kamyshin FC's Andrey Voronov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Karpenko in the 9th minute of play. Boris Scherbov scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andrey Voronov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Kaluga's Boris Scherbov in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kaluga's Aleksey Volnuhin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zinoviy Chervitskiy in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Kaluga getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Stanislav Nozhkin hit a great ball. Aleksey Volnuhin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Ananskiy in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes Kaluga got a freekick which was hit by Kapiton Kirilenko. Aleksey Volnuhin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Konstantin Takhtamirov's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Felix Ananskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksey Volnuhin having to interfere. After 26 minutes, Stanislav Nozhkin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kaluga and the Kamyshin FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Aleksey Volnuhin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Boris Volochkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Boris Scherbov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kaluga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After the first half Kaluga were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Konstantin Takhtamirov made a kick off. A collision led to Kaluga getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Gleb Apraksin hit a great ball. After having played for 57 minutes, Felix Ananskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kamyshin FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Ananskiy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kaluga's Veniamin Nesterov suffered a concussion in the 62nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Ignat Shestakov's late challenge caught a Kaluga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ignat Shestakov helped the player get up and apologised. After 63 played minutes Kamyshin FC got a freekick which was hit by Ignat Shestakov. After a rather tough play, Kaluga's Boris Karpenko got a free kick in the 64th minute. Aleksey Volnuhin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Konstantin Takhtamirov's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Boris Volochkov came free with the goalkeeper in the 68th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Andrey Voronov could save by the left post. Boris Volochkovs short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Andrey Voronov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aleksey Volnuhin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Ananskiy in the 74th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Kapiton Kirilenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kaluga's supporters rose to their feet, but Kapiton Kirilenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrey Voronov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Boris Volochkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egor Norkin kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Felix Ananskiy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Aleksey Volnuhin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boris Volochkov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrey Voronov having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Kaluga left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Kamyshin FC.
