In the 7th match minute, Salavat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuriy Subbotin to maneuver through the defense. If Boris Scherbov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the last second Aleksey Torsunov throw himself and got hold of the ball when Boris Scherbov in the 13thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The supporters of Kaluga booed when Salavat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timofey Bokser didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aleksey Torsunov didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 17th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Petr Baibakov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksey Volnuhin having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 53 minutes, Aleksandr Kudryashov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salavat and the Kaluga players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yuriy Subbotin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Aleksey Volnuhin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timofey Bokser could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Aleksey Volnuhin made a huge save. A collision led to Kaluga getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Veniamin Nesterov hit a great ball. Salavat's Aleksey Torsunov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Volochkov in the 85th minute of play. Boris Scherbov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aleksey Torsunov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boris Scherbov, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Boris Volochkov struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Aleksey Torsunov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kaluga.
