Roman Panfilov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valentin Kamenskiy went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 36th minute of the match Nikolay Voronin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marat Kotlyarov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Arkhangelsk's goal looked a bit too open when Vladislav Hodorov came free, but Roman Panfilov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Kamenskiy to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Arkhangelsk's Evsey Rodionovskiy got a free kick in the 51st minute. When Valentin Kamenskiy came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Vologda fans jumped to their feet.
